RUSTOM : Prithul Movie Review

Akshay Kumar is now establishing himself as a serious hero with some patriotic touch. After Holiday, Airlift and Baby he has performed exceptionally well in Rustom. People have started considering him a hero whose films they can go for watching. Full Paisa Vasool. Rustom is based on the sensational Nanavati Murder case wherein Cdr. K. Nanavati was convicted guilty by the judge against the jury’s vote, upheld by the High Court and Supreme Court. Filmaker has taken some creative liberty in making of Rustom and we cannot blame them for that. In reality, this case was quite significant. Cdr. K. Nanavati came out of jail due to his close contact with the then ruling party of India. After this case, jury system, the British legacy we were carrying since our independence, ended. These points Rustom missed but as I said filmaker can take some liberty as they need to dramatize real life into reel life. Over all Rustom is a must watch movie. If I try to review Rustom, I will definitely give it 4.5 Stars out of 5 for Akshay’s and other actors’ acting. Although it is a movie around Akshay Kumar, other actors have played their respective roles well as well.

Story in the movie builds up nicely. Till half this movie keeps you seated. Later suspense on the motive behind murder has been filmed quite well.

Ileana D’cruz looks beautiful in 50’s dresses. In fact team Rustom should be given credit for bringing 50’s into the film in every scene. From furniture to cars, in every scene they have maintained it. A big clap for them. Esha Gupta has played a superb vamp with her expressions. Sachin Khedekar has played the role of a lawyer. However the funny angle in his character has brought down the tense mood of court scenes. Even the judge of the court plays a principal-like role. Court scenes could have been made better. Akashya Kumar has maintained a serious look in the film since its beginning till the end. He looks dashing in a White Navy Uniform. Pavan Malhotra and Kumud Mishra are noticeable characters in the film.

Music is good in the movie. I believe Atif is a very bad singer but his song ” Tere Sang Yara” seems rather fine seeing his standard. Music has been given by Ankit Tiwari, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Raghav Sachar.

VERDICT:

A must watch movie of this week if you like story-based pictures. Rustom movie is close to reality. I hope you will enjoy it.
